What Types of Oil Changes Does Nemer Volkswagen Offer?
Conventional Oil Change
If your VW was made before 2004, it may only require conventional oil. In many cases, we recommend switching to synthetic — but we still carry VW-approved conventional oil for vintage VW models. If you stick with conventional, be sure to bring your Volkswagen in for an oil change about every 3,000 miles.
Synthetic Oil Change
If you drive a VW model made since 2004, it will need synthetic oil for its oil change. The good news is that synthetic oil is much better for your engine than conventional, and it lasts much longer! With synthetic oil, you will likely only need to bring your VW in for an oil change every 10,000 miles or once a year (whichever comes first). In addition to being longer-lasting, synthetic oil keeps your engine better lubricated and even cleans it!
Semi-Synthetic Oil Change
If you want your older VW model to have some of the benefits of synthetic oil, but are not ready to make the switch, ask us about synthetic blend oils.
Diesel Oil Change
If you drive a vehicle with a diesel engine, it will require special oil. The oil meant for diesel engines usually has a different viscosity than the oil you need for gas-powered engines. In addition, diesel oil has anti-wear additives that would be too strong for a gas engine.
