The next Volkswagen Golf looks like it's getting a technology upgrade! The all new Modular Infotainment System will have the potential to set the bar high for future high-end and entry-level navigation, entertainment and connectivity.

The 2013 Golf will sport a new 5, 5.8 or 8 inch touchscreen interface with an 800x450 resolution screen. Drivers will be able to skip typing on a keyboard with its all new Handwriting recognition! This will let you write out your destination and points of interest in your search. Volkswagen is also looking into a MirrorLink function which will essentially mirror you smart phones screen. The final feature VW is exploring included proximity sensors. This means that the system can detect when a passengers hand is moving toward the screen or which side of the screen the hand is placed. Then it will automatically highlight specific features making it easier for both passenger and driver! Even though this product won't hit VW dealerships till early next year it's still worth getting excited about!
